Why people choose us

Grown on a farm, taught by the people who grow them.

01

Grown in a controlled room

Our mushrooms are grown in bags in a purpose-built barn room at Applesham Farm, where light, humidity and airflow are controlled.

02

Kits for indoors and outdoors

Grow-at-home kits come in a range of varieties, including oyster, lion’s mane, shiitake and coral tooth.

03

Learn the process

We run mushroom-growing workshops in person and online, plus seasonal masterclasses.

04

Circular economy thinking

We work with natural waste streams, turning them into growing substrates and giving materials a second life.

05

Made for shops and schools

Boxed kits for retailers, plus school and community packages for classroom and group projects.

06

Family roots

The name comes from a grocery delivery business run by the sisters’ grandparents and uncle Bill.

*As stated by Caley Brothers on its own website.

Our story

Two sisters, a barn, and a family name.

Jodie and Lorraine grew up in Surrey surrounded by home-grown food. They bought mushroom spawn, started growing, and when lockdown happened began developing grow-at-home kits and moved the business to Lancing.

The sisters are the Caley Brothers because their grandparents and uncle Bill ran a grocery delivery business under that name, and the sisters kept it as a nod to that food-growing legacy.
